We are excited to announce Jill Sobule as our first performer, on Friday, Feb. 17 (rescheduled from Jan. 20, when Jill was ill and had lost her voice). Jill scored two hit singles in the 1990s, including the cheeky (and then-controversial) LGBTQ anthem “I Kissed a Girl” and the satirical “Supermodel” from the Clueless soundtrack. However, her career is much more than that — she is in her third decade of touring and critical acclaim, including 11 albums; tours and performances with names as diverse as Warren Zevon, Neil Young, and Cyndi Lauper; numerous appearances on NPR and TV soundtracks. Jill Sobule is known for her witty, character-driven songs filled with hooks and poetic lyrics (and, as a fan of hers for decades, I’m quite sure she hasn’t played in Baltimore in over 10 years). We are so happy to host her (and see it as a bit of a protest in the wake of what is happening in D.C. that day, as we will be a community rallying around the art of a political and out singer-songwriter)!
Our March concert will be Folk & Americana artist Andru Bemis, who will be performing on March 18.
Dan Bern performs on Friday, April 21.
Brenda Kahn performs Friday, May 19.
